East Coast

The East Coast of Paxos island is ideal for even the most novice boat handlers. It offers countless choices of small bays, coves, beaches and picturesque harbors that are waiting to be explored.

It is protected from the North West breeze that blows after mid-day and provides shelter until late afternoon!

At the northernmost point of the Paxos Island is the stunning bay of Lakka, with its beautiful turquoise blue lagoon. There are many dining out options and several bars and taverns along the water’s edge, where you can sit for lunchtime enjoy your drink or a sun downer and be captivated by the view and observe some of the impressive yachts and sailing boats moored there.

Boat Hire Paxos offer a truly unique opportunity to the visitors of Paxos & Antipaxos to escape and explore even the most hidden parts of the islands.

Then moving towards the south, you will encounter three small serene coastal beaches Orkos, Lakkos and Arkoudaki before arriving at Manadendri, One of the few organized beaches on Paxos Island, which is very popular to families with children and teenagers. To the right corner facing the beach you ll see Ben’s Bar, right in the middle of the beach is Manadendri (Bastas) Taverna and to the left side Glyfada’s beach hotel bar / taverna.

Here you have the options of dining and refreshments, you can enjoy the music and water sports, such as canoes, water bicycles and windsurfing!

From Ben’s place, there is even a swimming pool at Basta’s place. Finally, and very close to Manadendri you will find Glyfada and Phykia, just before reaching the magnificent and uniquely beautiful harbor of Loggos, where I’m placed!

Leaving the path from Loggos and on your way to Gaios, you will come across Levrechio beach which has another dining option facing the sea named taverna Bouloukos situated under the olive trees offering great shade from the summer’s sun!

Right next to Levrechio beach, Marmari beach is one of the most laid back beaches of Paxos Island with turquoise waters ideal for snorkeling and observing the colorful fish. Marmari beach, offers a lot of shade from the ancient olive trees that reach out to the sea, perfect for those that like to read and relax without getting sunburned!

Shortly after, you will find Kipos and then Kipiadi the largest beach, a safe place for days with northwest winds and a favorite place for yachts and sailboats to moor up for a few hours or a day.

Alati, Kaki Langada and Kloni Gouli are three small beaches just before the natural port of Gaios. You will also see the island of Panagia with the small monastery. And next is the island of St. Nicholas and the castle hidden in the pines, forming a unique channel of incredible beauty in Greece. Gaios is the capital of Paxos Island and offers many choices for those who choose to stop there for a while.

Leaving Gaios, we pass the beaches Gianna, Aftia the donkey and Balo to reach the southernmost tip of the island and the natural harbor of Mongonissi bay. A popular beach for families as it has very shallow water and yellow sand where the children can safely play and enjoy swimming, eating and drinking. On this bay you can dock your boat safely in two different spot’s that lead you directly to the beach restaurants (carnayo gold and moggonisi taverna)

Right next to Mongonissi, you will find Kaltsionisi, together forming a uniquely beautiful channel with turquoise waters. You will also see the picturesque church of Saint Spyridon where many choose to anchor and enjoy the magic and tranquility of nature.
